Don't Worry - Be happy!

I know, I know, DP season is upon us and we are all scurrying around to get things done. Assignments and tests are creeping around every corner and, eventually, we can all feel a little lost.

When you are feeling as if the entire world is crashing down on you, take a moment, close your eyes and BREATHE. Think about what you need to do – and do it. When you think about what you want, and how to get it, you feel happier and in greater control of your life.

It is easy to be cheerful when everything is going according to plan. But, it is when you encounter unexpected setbacks that you need to stand tall and face the music. Looking on the bright side is most important when things go wrong.

Dismiss all thoughts that are trying to bring you down. So, every time a nasty, negative, thought monster creeps in – retrain your brain to change it into a positive thought instead.

Resolve from now on to see your glass of life as half full rather than half empty and take small steps towards reaching your goals. If you need professional assistance visit the Student Counselling Centre on campus.
